I believe it is because of this reason that the government does attempt to cover up UFO sightings. They have already witnessed first-hand what an event like this can do to the safety of the public.

They cover this shit bcoz so many people are afraid that Aliens are Devils in my meaning they kill people and Examine them . So to prevent people getting feared they cover up this Shit . however If i say to a random person in the street I've seen an alien they wouldn't beleve it.
If the governement says the same then more people beleve it. and the "stereotype" alien as most people think is that aliens come to spread chaos and destroy stuff with theyr UFOs and most of al alien abduction.
imagine what kind of chaos there would come if the gov says aliens are out there

There is no evidence to support the existence of UFO's. There is more evidence that supports the Government is hiding top secret research projects; this is most likely what people are seeing.

first of al there is area 51 where they may be doing reaserch to alien tech. (<-- not sure)
they're spending billions of $$$ for reasearch to find humanoids from an other planet but they can't feed the poor in africa get medicine etc.
