Default need answers...freaking out!

Me and my finace moved into our apartment about amonth ago its located in a very small town and most of the buildings are very very old.. Nothing spooky really happend when we first moved in, although somtimes while sitting and watching tv orplaying on the computer i would see something out of the corner of my eye, i brushed it off thinking that it was probably one of my cats zipping around the house. Lately though things have become a little creepy. I work second shift so when i get home it takes me awhile to wind down so i dont fall asleep until about 4 in the morning. For the past two nights something has been making noise. the first night i was lying in bed and i heard a thump. thinking it was my cat i blew it off, but then about ten seconds later it sounded like something had fallen in the house and my cat started meowing as soon as it happend. thinking my cat knocked something over and may be hurt i woke my fiance up to help me go investigate. we found nothing knocked over or out of place in the home. when we came out of the room my one cats was sitting infront of our bedroom dorr, and our other was in the dryer sleeping on some dry towels. All this happend at about 3:45 in the morning. i brushed it off thinking it a fluke and went to bed. now the next night i was getting ready to go to bed, i fed my cats and then went to the bathroom to brush my teeth, while doing that i got this sick gut feeling like something was going to happen, so i hurried into the bedroom, closed the door and snuggled up to my fiance. i couldnt sleep so i started reading on my phone. it was about the same time i heard everything the night before, and i heard the same thump like last night and my insides froze. i tried to keep reading but i didnt process anything on the screen. then i heard this sound, and i cant even explain what it was, maybe a chittering or like a chipmunk laughing, thats the closest thing i can get to explain the sound. It sounded like it came from the foot of the bed and i layed there frozen feeling like someone plunged an ice cold hand through my chest. i snapped out of it and freaked out and woke up my fiance, i started hyperventilating and shaking and crying. it was the worst most scariest thing thats ever happend to me. it was so bad i slept with the lights on in our room. can anyonehelp me, or has anyone ever expierenced something similar? i just feel like im going crazy and it would help knowing someone has had something like that happen to them.

What you need to do is get a preacher to come and pray over your house, what it is, is evil spirits don't let people tell you that it's somebody that's died and their haunting you, it's not. Believe me, cause according to the bible when somebody dies and they wasn't saved they go right to hell and they can't get outta hell and somebody that has died and was a christian, course they go to heaven and yes they can visit their family if they want to but they are not apt to scaring people. Please believe me, my dad is a preacher and he's been to peoples houses to pray over them. But once the evil spirits are gone, don't open a door for them to come back, like listening to hard rock music, drugs, drinking, etc.
