I haven't shared this experience with anyone yet. It just feels...private. Over the last year, I was in the hospital three times due to a condition (which has gotten so much better). On two of those three stays, I was unconscious for half the stay and given a 50/50 chance of waking up. This time I was in for an animal bite that had become septic. I was conscious but in pain and I think I hit a low BP of 50/38. A couple days into the stay, I was feeling better. It was evening and I decided to take advantage of the hospital's on-demand movie system. I was conscious, wide awake, on no mind altering meds, only antibiotics and saline. Sometimes during the movie, I suddenly felt moderate pressure on both my shoulders, as one would if someone walked up behind them to give a reassuring squeeze. I was taken aback and didn't move until the pressure eased. No one could be directly behind me, as the wall and wires and tubing made it inaccessible. I knew no one had entered the room because I was awake and coherent. But the pressure - the distinct feeling of two hands - reassured me, as if to say "don't worry; this isn't like the other hospital visits." I've carried the memory of the experience since then. I think some of my reluctance to share it with family/friends is that I don't want anyone to dismiss or demean the feelings I had. But there it is. No apparitions or sounds, but I know this happened to me. |

First of all there is the possibility that your body could have had some trauma due to the shock that happened to it. Strange twitches may occur and you still being in a less than healthy state can have these experiences they maybe involuntary muscle movements. I wouldn't say it is paranormal just yet and I would wait on telling others since it maybe a common occurrence. Since you didn't see or hear anything or feel temperature drops in the room or on your body I would say don't feel like it was a haunting but more like your body is telling you to rest and heal itself.
